At the end of August, 2024, with a few bonus days of work leave to burn, I decide to make a quick solo trip up western Pennsylvania to north-east Ohio and swing back down through the eastern frontier of the Mid-west to cross a few places of my "to-visit" list. This include multiple stops along the Ohio-Erie Canal National Heritage Area. Each stop had it's own collection of information and displays to see and learn from regarding the history of the creation, adventures, and eventual closure of the canal as a mode of commericial transportation.
